Hon’ble Prime Minister Independence Day speech puts manufacturing first; 7–8 new chip plants coming
Speaking from the Red Fort, PM Modi placed manufacturing first among seven growth engines ("Shakti Ki Saptadhara"). He said three semiconductor plants have started production and chip exports have begun, with seven to eight more plants expected in one to two years. He urged MSMEs to use India's FTAs with around 40 countries to expand exports of textiles, machinery, pharma and seafood.
